IBM and SAP team up to serve transportation industry

IBM and SAP on Thursday announced plans to collaborate on business applications and consulting services tailored to the transportation and logistics industry.

The partnership will aim to combine SAP software with IBM's implementation and configuration services. In other words, SAP will take its event, transportation and customer relationship management applications, combine them into a single integrated platform, and then wrap it all up in IBM's best practices in analytics templates. The idea is to tailor the platform to company needs while also delivering lower costs and faster time to value.
