The SAP Bloggers Corner had an opportunity to catch-up with the head of the Enterprise Social and Collaborative Software Business at SAP, Sameer Patel (@sameerpatel), about what’s new with SAP’s social software strategy and SAP Jam.

What is new with SAP’s social software strategy?
Sameer: With the launch of SAP Jam in 2012, customers have used SAP Jam for their social and collaboration needs, as well as using the platform to allow for collective problem solving and social business processes such as collaborative opportunity management, social learning, or collaborative budgeting and forecasting.

Today, SAP is shifting to the next evolution of its social software strategy to incorporate “work patterns” with SAP Jam.

What are work patterns and how do they work?
Sameer: Work patterns are pre-built workspaces developed from proven business approaches and best practices that connect the dots by bringing together the people, documents, information, business system data, and applications you need to gain a full picture of the work.  You just select a pre-built work pattern from the list provided in SAP Jam and you can get up and running in seconds to engage your team.  Work patterns bring together the people, information, and data you need.
